While our luncheon raised a record amount, we still have a long way to go to reach our $1 million goal by 2008. Here is what our neighboring schools foundations raise:
| District | # of Students | $ Raised in 2006 |
| Seattle Alliance | 46,000 | $8 million |
| Bellevue S.F. | 16,000 | $1.5 million |
| Mercer Island S.F. | 4,000 | $842,000 |
| Issaquah S.F. | 16,000 | $371,000 |
| Shoreline E.F. | 9,700 | $335,000 |
| Snoqualmie Valley S.F. | 5,000 | $40,000 |
| Lake Washington E.F. | 23,500 | $30,000 |
Bellevue Schools Foundation raises over $1 million more each year than ISF/CISI. With their additional funding, they contribute $660,000 last year to help implement a leading math and science curriculum. Mercer Island School Foundation funded a district-wide literacy adoption for kindergarten through 8th grade and is purchasing 50,000 books for students to become more effective readers, writers and communicators.
These examples show first hand the significant impact
schools foundations have on the quality of learning
within their districts. We want and need this same
impact in our district. And, with your support, we can
do just that.
